Calling it a night…
I’m preparation for tomorrow’s Baby Shower, here’s what I accomplished for Baby Mae today:
3 Embroidered Bibs
11 Headbands
1 Diaper Cover with Frayed Roses
1 Hand Beaded & Dyed Onesie and Silk Dupioni Pants
Another Hand Beaded & Dyed Onesie
Appliqued Onesie and Matching Pettiskirt
and 3 Monogrammed Burp Cloths
I wasn’t able to finish the silk jacket (which matches the pants) or the pink pettiskirt (which matches the pink onesie). I’ll have to work on them this week.
Mr. Diva’s friend had a baby boy…so guess what I’ll be doing AGAIN this week? ugh!

Remember all those canvas bags I embroidered for my friend, Kacey’s students?

She sent me these photos…looks like the kids are pleased, too! Yippee!

Thought I’d take a break from my sewing frenzy for a quick Meme- Part II:
11. Do you have any pets, if so what kind? Nope..unless you consider my outdoor Koi fish…LOL.
12. Are you a reader? If so, what type of books do you like? I love to read. Usually I read sewing technique books and occasionally a trashy novel. A few months ago, I joined a Girls’ Book Club on Ebay where we read a different book each month. It’s a lot of fun…beside we have great SWAPs…haha!
13. Are you celebrating a birthday or anniversary in October, November, or December? If so, what day and what is the occasion? Mr. Diva™ and I will be celebrating our 16th? Wedding Anniversary on October 19th. Then December 1st, I will be have a big 50th Birthday party for Mr. Diva (his birthday is really December 17th, but with the holidays we decided to have it earlier). On December 18th, my little guy, Joey, will be celebrating his 6th birthday.
14. Do you collect anything? If so what type of things do you collect? Ummm…vintage tatting and lace, polka dot fabric, vintage sewing stuff, wall reliefs (they replicate stone carvings) and rusted iron garden ornaments/obelisks/sculptures.
15. What type of things do you like to cook? Are you an appetizer person, cookie maker, dessert freak or a take out type of person?? Honestly, I rarely cook anymore. I used to do lots of baking (homemade pastries, cakes, etc.), but haven’t really been into it in a long time…not sure why. I usually go out to eat as there are just so many awesome restaurants here in NYC and then I don’t have to do dishes!
16. What is your favorite scent? Is there one that you can’t stand? I love both Tuberose and Gardenia. I don’t like Strawberry.
17. What’s your favorite song? Currently I’d have to say it is All at Once by The Fray.
18. What’s the last movie you went to see at the movie theater? I think I saw Spiderman 3 with my son at 2am during the premiere.
19. What’s your favorite Candy? I just LOVE candy (but you knew that)! My favorites are Smarties and Dots.
20. Tea or Coffee or other? I like Starbucks Coffee with Carnation Vanilla Nut creamer. A few months ago, Mr. Diva™ bought me a Delonghi Magnifica Coffee/Espresso/Latte Machine. It grinds the beans, filters the water and gives you a fresh cup of coffee in about 30 seconds. No need to get Caramel Macchiatos at Starbucks anymore…LOL.
Feel free to cut and paste the above Meme on your blog or just post your answers in the comments here…

Came across this video on Metacafe and thought I’d share it for those of you interested in Heirloom Sewing Techniques…
I have to spend the ENTIRE day and night in my sewing workshop…I’ve procrastinated on the baby gifts for tomorrow’s Baby Shower. I can’t seem to decide what the heck to make…so now we are down to emergency sewing mode…

So I broke out the good old Husqvarna Viking 3D Embroidery Studio software…guess I can make some quick embroidery baby bibs, burp cloths, diaper covers and maybe blankets as it looks like I’m never going to finish the matching silk jacket in time. So far I’ve narrowed the embroidery designs down to a princess crown, a fleur di lise (my step-sister’s favorite thing) and a few “M” monograms. I’ll also make some quick bowbands (headbands).
I did, however, dye the second hand beaded onesie and vintage tutu a nice chocolate brown. Still need to make the waistbands on the tutus smaller…but how small for a 6 month size? Perhaps 18 inches?
I’ll share pics of all the projects before I gift wrap everything at 2am tonight…haha!

Well, here I am waiting on the mailman for a thingamajig I purchased for my friend, Jen little*red*wagon,…and not only did it FINALLY show up today, but I ALSO got a package FROM JEN!!! LOL! Check this out…
Ironically, I canceled my session with my personal trainer at the gym today (I have too much sewing to do) and this just helps me on my downward diet spiral…haha!!! Heck, I’m going to savor every last bite of these goodies before Monday Morning Reality sets in and I have to drag myself back to the gym…

Yucky Yellow
Yellow is one of those colors I just can’t stand. I NEVER buy yellow fabric and will tear out anything that pops up in my garden that resembles yellow. Ironically, yellow is my teenage daughter’s favorite color…she’s begged me to paint her room yellow…NEVER!
Yarn
When I think of yarn, one name comes to mind…
